WildInno & Wildlife ACT Rhino Dehorning & Tracking Pod Deployments at Hluhluwe iMfolozi Park

August, 2025

Across Southern Africa’s protected areas, rhino conservation has become a year-round priority. Regular Black and White Rhino species-wide dehorning—carried out approximately every 16–18 months—remains a critical intervention to reduce poaching risk and safeguard remaining populations.

At WildInno, we support these efforts through LoRa-enabled GPS tracking pods designed for both Black and White Rhino. These units deliver reliable, long-term movement data, with optional integrated Added Function Very-High Frequency (AFVHF) functionality to support on-the-ground monitoring by conservation teams.

This work is about more than technology. It reflects a collective commitment to proactive protection, informed monitoring, and long-term recovery for one of Africa’s most threatened species.

We thank Wildlife ACT, Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife, African Wildlife Vets, and WWF BRREP for their leadership and collaboration in this essential conservation work.

Our focus remains clear: protection, daily insight, and a future where rhinos can thrive.
